All in all, a nice movie that is neither among the best or worst movies I've seen(this applies to all of the Barbie movies actually). The voice acting is done by talented people and done with just about the right dynamic. I did like that the characters do look more human in their designs than the plastic-looking ones I can see. Elina and Laverna are good contrasting characters, and the other characters are very cute. The music is memorable with loving moments of whimsy and the story is effective in its simplicity with some good messaging and an overall charming feel to it. On the other hand, it is well animated, with the backgrounds stunning and colourful. The dialogue does have its ropey moments and the film could've been a little longer. Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaidia is a nice movie in my view. When an evil fairy called Laverna starts capturing the seven guardian fairies in Fairytopia, and releases a disease that affects creatures with wings. They must overcome many obstacles put in their path by Laverna, an evil fairy who wants to usurp the power of the enchantress. Even the Enchantress fell under her sisters spell. Yet when the Enchantress evil sister, Laverna, poisoned Fairytopia with a sickness that took away the fairies power to fly, she was able to kidnap all seven Guardians. This land of peace and harmony is ruled by the gracious Enchantress and her Guardian fairies.

It had the power to weaken every flying creature in Fairytopia if they breathed it in they would become so weak they would lose the power to fly. Laverna calls her minions, Fungus, who reveal Lavernas formula. Laverna plans to kidnap all of the guardians, and then take over Fairytopia. Longing to have a sparkling set of wings just like her fairy-friend, Dandelion, Elina discovers that the wicked Laverna has weakened all flying creatures in. Some of them are corny such as in the dialogue, but they are charming movies mostly with some nice characters. Elina, a flower fairy, a puffball, and a giant butterfly search for a guardian fairy when Magic Meadow starts to die. Just through the rainbow from the world we know lies Fairytopia. However, Topaz really has been kidnapped by Laverna. In the enchanting world of Fairytopia, at the colourful Magic Meadow, the beautiful but wingless sprite, Elina, lives in a hospitable flower along with her companion, Bibble, the puffball. are we ready to talk about how laverna from barbie fairytopia is absolutely not straight.

I don't consider any of the Barbie movies among the best movies I've seen, but from my perspective they are entertaining for their main target audience, and if a movie succeeds in doing that in my opinion it's done its job well. See a recent post on Tumblr from leoneliterary about laverna.
